ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTRE

Fiastra Abbey Nature Reserve is an ideal place to observe and study the evolution of the natural environment and of the population living in the area. Together with the valuable historical and architectural monuments, the agricultural landscape is of particular interest, since it has preserved many typical elements of the past.
It is for this reason that Fiastra Abbey Nature Reserve has been officially recognized as an Environmental Education Centre by Region Marche (in Italian “CEA”, i.e.  Centro di Educazione Ambientale).

Visitor Centre
It is situated in the building of the former guest house of the monastery. The visitor centre provides various services, information and guides, games, a gift shop, toilets, exhibitions and videos on the history of the Abbey and the characteristics of the environment.

School Activities
Guided tours to the reserve and its surroundings are organized by professional guides.
The Centre is primarily geared to provide outdoor education for school children, other community groups, and life-long learning.
All the activities provided can be tailored and adapted to any schools needs.
